Last Call for Summer Seminar

The final deadlines for TOC's Summer Seminar 2001 are fast approaching. The early registration period ended April 23 and the conference fee is now $945. (Room and board charges for on-campus lodging have not increased.) All registrations for the summer seminar must be received by June 1, and they are nonrefundable thereafter. Those who wish to stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites, where TOC has reserved a limited number of rooms, must call the hotel by June 9.

Anyone who has not received a brochure for the summer seminar may obtain one from TOC by calling 1-800-374-1776. The information needed to register is also available at the center's Web site.

At the seminar, an excellent line-up of faculty will offer a week full of inspiring and challenging lectures, courses, and workshops in philosophy, politics, art, and personal applications of Objectivism. Fourteen new faculty members will be on board this year, expanding further our community of Objectivist scholars.

And, as always, the seminar will offer much more than lectures. Over the years, the seminar has evolved into an intense experience of what it means to be an Objectivist--and of what it means to live in a thriving Objectivist community. There is plenty of time for socializing, entertainment, and recreation, both on campus and throughout the surrounding area.

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown campus is located in the Laurel Ridge section of the Allegheny Mountains; rivers, lakes, meadows and woodlands provide the backdrop for hiking, golfing, white water rafting, canoeing, and boating. The area's historical and cultural offerings include one of the nation's oldest summer-stock theaters, living history museums, world-famous architectural masterpieces, and a symphony orchestra. As a result, participants will have no trouble combining an exciting conference with great recreation.
