This Month's Contributors

ROGER DONWAY, a TNI contributing editor, was the former editor of Navigator. There he published frequently on business-related topics, including the philosophic meaning of the Enron debacle, and the government’s persecution of businessman Frank Quattrone. Currently a senior research fellow at the Institute for Energy Research, he is a colleague of its president, former Enron official Robert Bradley Jr. Who better than Roger to interview Bradley for this issue’s revealing chronicle of the rise and fall of Enron’s Ken Lay?
 
EDWARD L. HUDGINS, executive director of The Atlas Society and its Objectivist Center, is the publisher of The New Individualist. A prolific writer and speaker, Ed previously was director of regulatory studies at the Cato Institute and editor of its magazine, Regulation; a senior economist for the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress; and deputy director for economic policy studies at the Heritage Foundation. His frequent contributions to these pages include recent reflections on Ayn Rand’s intellectual influence (January-February), and an analysis of the Islamist war against freedom of speech (Winter). This month, Ed assesses the prospects for cooperation between rational individualists and philosophic skeptics and humanists.
 
ROBERT HUBERTY is executive vice president and director of research for the Capital Research Center (CRC), a Washington, DC-based watchdog of nonprofit organizations. During TNI editor Robert Bidinotto’s past employment at CRC, Bob Huberty was his boss, and taught him a great deal about how to turn rough manuscripts into lively prose. Bob was a research assistant to former President Richard Nixon during the writing of Nixon’s Memoirs. He joined the Heritage Foundation as editor of Mandate for Leadership, an influential volume of public policy advice heavily consulted by the Reagan Administration, and served at Heritage in several other executive capacities. Bob wrote a piece for our July 2005 issue; this month he contributes another fine review—a less-than-glowing assessment of President Bush.
 
ROBERT L. JONES is a freelance journalist whose encyclopedic knowledge of classic movies and classical music is exceeded only by his talent as professional photographer. Robert’s articles and photos have been featured in numerous publications, including past issues of TNI. As a policy writer for Rudy Giuliani’s 1993 mayoral campaign, he co-authored the candidate’s position paper on crime and law enforcement. He has published Web sites devoted to Sergei Rachmaninoff, Jean Sibelius, and currently, Eugene Ormandy (he is writing a biography of the great conductor). A proud, fifteen-year veteran of the U.S. Army, the multitalented Mr. Jones returns to our pages this month as TNI’s entertainment editor.
