A New Unrugged Individualism

Russell La Valle, TOC's director of marketing and production, has announced the publication of a revised edition of David Kelley's seminal tract Unrugged Individualism: The Selfish Basis of Benevolence. "To my mind, Unrugged is one of the core products of TOC and a must for every Objectivist's library," La Valle said. "It makes an important contribution to the study and analysis of Ayn Rand's ideas, demonstrating the compassionate side of Rand's 'virtue of selfishness' by showing that benevolence is not an altruistic act but a selfish one." He added: "To those familiar with the original publication, the most substantive change will involve the internal organization of the chapters; apart from a new cover, layout, and some minor editing corrections, the text has remained the same."
